Ah, the Memories

Standard

Talking at dinner the other night reminded me of some of my favorite college memories.  Some of them are really cheesy.  Some of them are really fun.  Some of them were once in a lifetime.  All of them made my life at Anderson one that is worth telling my children and grandchildren about.

Sitting on the steps of Sullivan after Crusade with Dawn Rickard talking and crying and praying until all hours of the night.

RUF girls Bible Study every Wednesday night.  It was always the highlight of my week.

Deciding at 8:00 one night that because we were always back to our dorm too early, we were going to stay out past 9.  We couldn’t find anything to do in town (we’d already been to the Mall and Target and Walmart and to eat), so Emily and I called Dawn, told her to put down her paintbrush, change into comfy clothes and grab a pillow.  We picked her up shortly after and headed to the beach to watch the sunrise.  After we watched the sunrise, we drove back.  Just for the record, it was the most beautiful sunrise I’ve ever seen.

Going to Clemson with Amanda on Thursday nights to have dinner with Bonnie and sometimes Ashley and going to FCA.

Junior year I was on leadership with Campus Crusade and we were able to move into our dorms before the regular students.  Myself, Dawn, and Celeste made cups and filled them with random things to hand out on move in day.  I think this was just one of my favorites because I felt important. :)

Move in day, Freshman year.  I had stayed up too late the night before (what’s new, right?) and I moved my stuff in before Amanda (because she wasn’t a freshman, so she had to wait a few days) and I met our suitemates, Casey, Stephanie, and Paula (Lacey, and Amanda would move in later in the week) and decided immediately that they were too preppy and stuck up.  I left as soon as possible and didn’t return until absolutely necessary. Those girls became some of my favorite people ever.

My sophomore year, I decided that I was not going to come home for the first few weeks of school because I wanted to spend time with friends.  One of those weekends, a bunch of people (most of whom I did not know) got together to go to the fair in Pickens.  We rode the ferris wheel and it FREAKED ME OUT.

Ahh.  The memories.
